At the Oneota Co-op, we define local as any product grown, produced, roasted, processed, or packaged within approximately a 100 mile radius of the Co-op.
The Oneota Co-op is committed to supporting local producers and providing local goods for customers to purchase. 25% of store sales in 2017 were local items, which amounts to over $1,351,336 in sales to local producers. Customers can find local items in the store by looking for red tags. A total of local sales purchased is also printed at the bottom of each sales receipt.
Registered 501(c)(3) organizations are recipients of Oneota Co-op’s Round Up at the Register campaigns. Shoppers may choose to “round up” purchase totals and/or contribute additional funds as desired. Each campaign is two weeks in length.
Our “round up” initiatives are mission-driven. Those awarded campaigns are most frequently organizations working alongside us to build a sustainable and equitable future for those living in, and visiting, our region. Those seeking Round Up at the Register consideration should fill out the application here.

The Oneota Community Food Co-op is committed to supporting the community that it serves. We believe in supporting the many organizations whose work makes our community a better place. Our donation programs are one of the many ways we strive to fulfill our Ends Policy Statement as well as meeting one of the 7 cooperative principles that guide all cooperative organizations. (Cooperative Principle #7 – Concern for Community.)
The OCC contributes thousands of dollars annually to local organizations in the form of sponsorships, gift baskets, and gift card items. Co-op shoppers give back thousands of additional dollars to local non-profit organizations through spare change donated through our Round Up at the Register program.
General Donations will be most commonly made in the form of gift certificates, but exceptions will be made on a case-by-case basis. If you are interested in applying for a donation, please contact donations@oneotacoop.com. Our HR Manager is currently handling all donation requests for the store. If you would like to download a copy of our general donation form and complete it prior to any discussion, click here.
