Some of my earliest memories are of my parents demonstrating the value of volunteering. From our 4-H club to church to local non-profits, they were involved. Service was a natural way of life for them and it’s a tradition I’ve carried with me.
I’m also grateful for the positive impact cooperatives have had on my life, from the dairy farm where I was raised to the credit union where I spent the best years of my career. Cooperatives represent community, people coming together around a common interest for the betterment of all involved.

Serving on the Oneota Co-op board has been a natural fit. Our co-op is such a gem. It’s one of the many features that attracts people to Decorah. There is a fellowship you feel when you walk through those doors and witness the commitment to nurturing our local food system.
I serve because giving back not only helps our co-op but also enriches my life through knowledge gained and relationships fostered. The Co-op board is a wonderful group of people bringing together their diverse backgrounds to position our co-op for the next fifty years.
Come join us! We welcome member-owners to attend a monthly board meeting and/or a potluck, join one of our committees, or consider serving on the board. We’d love to hear from you!
