Oneota Co-op received news last week that local coffee vendor Wonderstate Coffee of Viroqua has received B Corp certification. Earning Certified B Corporation standing is no small task. This designation means a business is meeting high standards of verified performance, accountability, and transparency. A B Corp treats its employees well, treats the planet well, and actively works to better itself and openly shares information.
Oneota Co-op’s relationship with Wonderstate is decades long and it’s with excitement and gratitude that we share this statement from our friends at Wonderstate below:

“This milestone is something we’ve been quietly working toward for a long time. We sought out B Corp certification because its values mirror our own: that business can and should be a force for good. This process challenged us to document, measure, and formalize the ways we’ve long tried to operate: responsibly, transparently, and with care for the people and places connected to our coffee.
Becoming a B Corp didn’t change who we are; it deepened our accountability. It asked us to look closely at how we support our team, source our coffees, engage with our community, and measure our environmental impact. It gave us language and benchmarks to track progress in areas we’ve long cared about, while connecting us with a global community of businesses that believe in balancing purpose and profit.
This certification reflects the values we’ve built our business around, but it isn’t a finish line. Becoming a B Corp simply helps us stay true to what’s always mattered most and continue improving in the years ahead.
