The Oneota Community Food Co-op hosted a “Round-Up at the Register” campaign November 9th through 23rd. During this time, customers at the Co-op were given the opportunity to round-up their sale to the nearest whole dollar with these funds going to support the Decorah Community Food Pantry. The campaign held in early November raised $1,226.
The Decorah Community Food Pantry is a faith-based, non-profit charity organization serving thousands of clients who need food and other basic essentials each year. When you support the Decorah Community Food Pantry you can feel good knowing that your generosity means neighbors in need have access to good nutrition.
Decorah Community Food Pantry started as a ministry of First Lutheran Church in 1996. In 2017 they incorporated as an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Their volunteers and board members coming from all over Decorah and surrounding communities and they share a passion for doing what they can to eradicate hunger and food-access issues in the community.
The Decorah Community Food Pantry depends on the generosity of individual donors, community organizations, and grants to provide thousands of meals each year. They are grateful to all who give time, money, or food to this important work.
Thank you to all the member/owners and shoppers of the Co-op who donated change over the course of two weeks to help this valuable organization.
