Five candidates on ballot

A fundamental part of the cooperative difference is that Oneota Co-op is democratically controlled by its member/owners. We embrace democracy through our annual board of directors election, in which Oneota Co-op owners elect other member/owners to serve as directors, and in some years, in which member/owners vote on proposed Co-op initiatives.

Our 2026 election opens Sunday, March 1 and closes Wednesday, April 1. Member/owners in good standing (current on purchase share agreements) are eligible to vote. There are two open seats in our 2026 election.

Member/Owner Information Update Form

First, please take a moment to update your contact information to facilitate our current, and future, electoral process. Your email facilitates digital communication, including your digital voting materials.

The Co-op strives to manage the most fiscally-responsible and democratically-aligned election possible. Electronic-only communication saves our Co-op several thousand dollars annually and allows us to “grow the good” in other areas. We strongly encourage our member/owners to vote electronically. Communication regarding our 2026 election, including paper ballots and voting credentials, will not be mailed automatically via USPS. Member/owners will continue to have the option of casting a paper ballot inside the store.

2026 Election Specifics

Member/owners with a valid email address on file with the Co-op, and who are, or become, in good standing before April 1, will receive digital election communication. This communication will be sent via the online election platform Election Runner and will contain a personal ID and password unique to each member/owner. These credentials will be used by the member/owner to access voting and annual meeting materials.

Member/owners in good standing that wish to vote via paper ballot may access election materials, and cast their ballot, at the store. Those seeking USPS mailed election materials should email vote@oneotacoop.com or call the Co-op at 563-382-4666 and ask to speak with Tanya or Nate. Please make a timely request to ensure adequate delivery and return time.

If you do not receive voting materials and believe that you should, please email vote@oneotacoop.com to verify your contact information and membership status. Completed ballots, electronic and paper, must be received at the Co-op no later than 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 1.

Member/owners have the responsibility to review the candidate statements and vote for our new board directors during this election process. We are delighted to present a slate of highly qualified individuals including two incumbents and three additional candidates.
